Thanks to the support of our partner National Bank, Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy proudly undertakes a variety of sustainable development actions that make a concrete difference.

Our engagement

As a leading organization in the Outaouais region, Les Grands Feux is committed to reducing its ecological footprint, innovating in the measures and initiatives it undertakes with its participants, suppliers and partners, and even including them in its ecoresponsibility initiatives.

Environmental

Free bicycle parking thanks to a contribution from the National Bank
Technical sorting of residual materials by Enviro Éduc-Action in collaboration with our green brigade
Planning signage to be reusable year after year
Free public transportation during Les Grands Feux via the STO - Société de transport de l'Outaouais thanks to a contribution from the National Bank
Recovery system for cans and returnable bottles in collaboration with Recycan
Trio bins placed at several locations on the event site (waste, composting and recycling)
City of Gatineau drinking water stations available on site for filling water bottles
Advocacy of multi-platform digital communication channels in advertising campaigns
Use of 100% recyclable aluminum cans and bottles
Raising awareness among our partners, suppliers and food concessions so that they adopt environmentally responsible practices
Gradual incorporation of Eco-Pyro green pyrotechnic products in our shows

Social

Contributing to the reduction of heat islands in downtown Hull through a monetary and labour commitment with CREDDO (Conseil régional de l'environnement et du développement durable de l'Outaouais) by participating in citizen tree planting
Fundraising for the organization Moisson Outaouais through initiatives within the event
Section for people with reduced mobility allowing to welcome a companion for free
Large community of volunteers promoting social inclusion and diversity
Social events to thank and recognize volunteers throughout the year
Hiring of seasonal students and paid interns
Redistribution of all unserved volunteer meals to The Base organization
Promotion of Quebec artists in the event's programming
Free access to the event for children aged 0 to 3 years
Diversified programming for all tastes and ages
Collaboration with Aboriginal Experiences to offer traditional dance performances to participants and promote the culture

Economic

Support for the regional economy and local producers (food concessions, restaurant owners, suppliers, product procurement)
Design of responsibly sourced promotional items, manufactured in Quebec by a B-Corp certified company
Partnership with Expérience Outaouais to offer tourist packages including hotels, attractions, restaurants and much more to promote the region
